CLIP is an incentive offered to LADWP customers who install energy efficient lighting and controls on their property.

The program has been in place since January 11, 2013 when the Board of Water and Power Commissioners approved the first component of the 150 MW FIT Program. The Program goal is to encourage renewable energy development within the Los Angeles Basin and to help meet the 33% Renewable Portfolio Standard mandate by December 31, 2020. LADWP announced its final allocation in of the program in February 2015.
Applications for the FIT Program are open to all Eligible Renewable Energy Resources ranging in size from 30 kW to 3 MW. The Program will be distributed into five (5) semi-annual allocations. The first three allocations will be 20 MW in size. The fourth and fifth allocations will be 15 MW and 25 MW, respectively.
Projects must be located within LADWP’s electric service territory. A map and a list of cities that comprise this area can be found below.

In order to participate in the LADWP CLIP Program your property must be within the LADWP service territory. Refer to the map or the list of 87 cities that comprise this area.
Incentives are based on the calculated energy saving of each project, with incentives ranging from $0.08-$0.24 per kilowatt-hour(kWh) of annualized savings. Incentives now cover up to 100% of the project cost.
